Alissa Seelmann-Rutkofske joined Cranbrook as the Center’s Administrative in August 2018. Her work experience includes nearly seven years with SEMCO Energy in Port Huron where she served as a Customer Service Representative and an Emergency Service Dispatcher and another three years with the former Talmer Bank & Trust in Port Huron where she was both a Sales Associate and Vault Specialist. In the cultural sector, she held internships at both The Detroit Institute of Arts and the Wayne State University Gallery. She is a graduate of Wayne State University where she received her BFA in art history with minors in fine arts and public relations. Alissa continues to pursue research in the area of African arts, specifically tracing the history of indigo dye in textiles, and maintains a practice as a freelance portrait photographer.
