Cranbrook Center for Collections and Research
Jin Kim joined the Center as its Digital Photographer in September 2017 at the same time he started his graduate studies at Cranbrook Academy of Art in the 2D Department. Since his childhood in South Korea, Jin has had a passion for the arts. This love first led him to England, where he studied at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, and then to New York City, where he studied at the School of Visual Arts. It was in New York that he not only focused his passion for the arts within the field of graphic design but also expanded his understanding of the world as he immersed himself in the diverse cultures of the city. Before moving to Michigan, Jin worked as a graphic design intern for several design-forward companies including BMW, DKNY, Nike, and MTV Networks. His position at the Center is funded through the Federal Work-Study Program.
