Center Friend Image: Milles’s Aganippe Fountain. The Aganippe were the muses’ sacred source, and it is said that those who drank the water received inspiration. The fountain was completed in 1955, the last year of Mille’s life, for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It later was moved to Brookgreen Gardens, South Carolina.
